My soft palate, tonsils and uvula all appear inflamed, yet there is no pain. There has also recently appeared whitish patches at the back of my throat. Do these symptoms indicate an infection, or is it just from post nasal drip?

Optional Information:

Hello

There is really no way to tell unless a culture is done. It could very well be viral, in which case it will resolve itself in about a week. Should you start to run a fever or get pain, it merits a trip to the doctor. If you are experiencing post nasal drip this could also be due to a sinus infection and merits being checked out.
