I have a boil right below the panty line. It has already drained. It is red around about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. what is the best care to do with it. I have been cleaning it with peroxide and putting an anticeptic cream on it and covering it with a clean banadage now for 2 days. It is getting a bigger hole in it. What is your advice?

Hi

The complaints you have described are suggestive of skin condition known as Folliculitis.

Folliculitis is an infection in a hair follicle, which is an opening in the skin that contains the hair root.

You need:

1. bandage of local antibiotic oint,

2.Clean the wound.

3.Do not share a razor, towel, or washcloth with anyone because the condition is contagious.

4. Always make sure the blade in your razor is new and clean to avoid infecting the area again

If the infection is getting worse & is getting deep, then you should consult dermatologist for oral antibiotics.

Hope this helps

Thanks
