Hi, i had a small bump you know like a pimple in my genital area. i applied pressure to it and it burst. Now, it looks as though it turned into a fleshy sore. should i be alarmed

Have you had unprotected sexual intercourse recently? Did any discharge come out of it or blood when you squeezed it? Is there only the one bump and how long ago did it appear? This will allow me to be of better help to you. Thank you.

Reply to Cheryl K.'s Post: the last time i had sex was in december and it was protected um it appeared after i popped what thought was a pimple there. and its not bleeding and it does not seem to be discharging any fluid. this started about a week ago.

Ok thank you for that information as it allows me to be of better help to you. If you have gone this long without sexual intercourse then you can rule out any STD's which is good. Just as we get pimples or boils in other areas of our body this can also occur in our genital region as well. Make sure to not pop anymore as this can actually cause it to spread or become infected. Continue with the antibiotic ointment and also some warm compresses. This can actually also occur from an ingrown hair also so this is another possible cause. Monitor this for any worsening or signs of spreading or infection that may need antibiotics but most likely this is a genital pimple, boil, or due to an ingrown hair.
