Is it possibly for someone to get epididymitus simply from masturbation...with no contact from anyone else? Because I'm currently experiencing my second bout of it..the first was roughly 4 months ago..and I haven't had a sexual partner for over a year.

Optional Information:
Male, Age: 24, South Dakota

Already Tried:
the first time was treated with doxycycline (sp?) and it cleared it up, but the medicine was really rough on me. This time, I'm trying to avoid going to the doctor (because the "check" is awkward and the medicine is worse) by simply taking large (500mg) doses of Vitamin C and cutting out my drinking...all in hopes of boosting my immune system.

No, it is not possilbe to get epidiymitun from masturbation. Epidiymitus is an inflammation of the epididymis which is caused by infection that is usually spread from the urethra or bladder or from gonorrhea and Chlamydia. You need to be seen by a physician or uruologist to have some bloodwork drawn and administered an antibiotic to treat the infection.

I hope my answer was helpful. If there is anything else that I can help you with, please don't hesitate to ask.

Reply to Dr. M. Strouse's Post: So what is your take on the natural remedy claims for epididymitus: cold compress, elevation, lots of Vitamin C, antioxidant vitamins and minerals, etc.?

Also, the reason I ask about the masturbation is because I notice it start up again after masturbating. Sorry to be frank, but it basically starts off feeling like "blue balls" that just doesn't go away.

Although I can understand your natural remedies, you are honestly just delaying treatment and relief. You really need to have a dose of antibiotics andministered to treat the problem.
