It has been sore sometimes, on the skin around the nipples, but not in or from the nipples -- moreso on the left breast --appears to be very small scales. The discharge is slightly yellower than my light colored skin. I brushed the area with my finger tips, and it felt slightly sticky. Any soreness stopped for hours after that.
The soreness started this morning as I woke up, and occurred several times throughout the day.

Hello

Thanks for clarification.

I would suspect that you may have a bit of a yeast infection. This is similar to athletes foot or jock itch. Same fungus. You might try dabbing it with some antifungal cream which you can find over the counter. There is also a chance it is a bacterial infection rather than fungal. SO, I would mix equal parts of antifungal cream with antibiotic ointment. Be sure you are cleaning and drying the area well prior to applying the medicine.

This should clear up in a few days if this is the problem. If it doesn't, it merits a trip to your doctor for further evaluation.
