Can someone please tell me why ciprofloaxin is most commonly prescribed? My husband recently had a painful swelling in his scrotum, he saw a urologist who diagnosed an infected sweat gland. The urologist drained the infection and prescribed ciprofloaxin to treat it. The problem is that I have read on numerous websites that ciprofloaxin is used to treat STD's , could it be an infected sweat gland or could my husband be covering up something more serious? Please help, I am pregnant and this is worrying me. Many thanks.
