Sent to Health Experts July 02 02:17 PM

I thought for a year now that my 9yr old boy and I had Morgellons. I just received notice that it is more likely to be "superbug". Is there any doctor or drug that can help us??? please!!

Optional Information:
Female , Age: 33

Already Tried:
Garlic pills,B12,Ivermectin,Bactrim DS,Penicillin,Elimite,Zinc cream,Tea Tree oils,Salt Baths..just about everything. What do you think about Vancomycin or Platensimycin? Please help us if you can....Thank you.

Hello,

A drug-resistant superbug that spreads by skin contact is infecting thousands of people across the US and may now have reached Europe.

The MRSA bacterium, or methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, can be resistant to many antibiotics. It has long been a serious problem in hospitals and nursing homes, where it infects the wounds of patients weakened by disease or injury. But it now appears that a new strain is emerging that spreads through skin contact and can even infect healthy people.

I would suggest getting a consult with an Infectious Disease Specialist. They are the specilaists that have the latest up to date info on how best to treat the "superbug"

If you woild like, give me your city, state & zipcode and I can provide you with a list of Infectious Disease Specialists in your area.

Reply to Deborah's Post: I live in Hattiesburg,MS. I have seen doctors that think i'm nuts..that all these lesions(head to toe)are in my head. I want to see a doctor but I don't think I could take it if one more tells me it's nothing and WE just have that type of skin. My boy is 9 and I"m 33 and we moved from the coast of Louisiana to Mississppi. And about a month after the move is when it first started. It will be a year this July that were here. I would be willing to travel to LA,MS,AL,TX,FL....Thank you so much for trying to help us!! It means a lot....c.martin

Reply to Deborah's Post: Yes,we were. But we moved to Hattiesburg just weeks befor eit hit. We had more damage here then our home on the coast of Louisiana. We had no electric power for two weeks! Also, my first spot was on my foot about two weeks before Katrina. I was told it was a bite..then it spread to my back..then it was scabies...then it was springtail..then Morgellons. I truely think it is the superbug. For a year i've had these little blue fiber like things and black specs, etc. BUT I think the other night I rubbed my arm and saw something FLY out!! I think I'm finally losing my mind....

Ok, I thought you might have been in the midst of the flood waters of Katrina, wading around in all the poluted waters.

I still am of the opinion that a consult with an Infectious Disease Specialist is prudentnot only for treatment, but for your peace of mind.

Here is a list of Infectious Disease Doctors in your area. By making an appointment with either of these two doctors, you will have the best possible treatment, as these doctors only treat these types of infections and have the latest treatment options available.
