Hello,
The symptoms are very similar to that of yeast infections.
Fungal/yeast infections can occur in anyone irrespective of age or sex. A fungal infection would cause redness, itching and burning. It can spread by direct contact with people or infected article. Heat and humidity worsen the condition.

People with decreased immunity like those with diabetes are more vulnerable to it. These can be treated with antifungal creams or ointment that are available over the counter. However, I would advise you to consult a physician or a dermatologist for a confirmation especially if you are a diabetic.

Hope this answers your query and you are welcome to ask doubts if any or if you need more clarification on the answer given by clicking the answer of info button.

Please see the name or the ingredient that's on it. If its clotrimazole, Econazole, ketocoanzole, you can use it. Athlete's foot is also a type of yeast infection.

If the condition does not improve within a day or two or if the pain and redness persist or worsen, please consult your doctor. IF you are a diabetic maintain your sugar level within limits, you might require oral medication because of the illness.

If you still have questions, please ask.
