What should be done for low blood pressure under 100?
Sent to Health Experts April 27 08:55 AM

I felt a little light headed this morning and checked my blood pressure 98/59. I wonder if that is the cause and what is the best way to raise it

Normal blood pressure is 120/80 or lower.

Systolic is the top number and Diastolic is the lower number.

Systolic blood pressure for most healthy adults falls between 90 and 120 millimeters of mercury (mm Hg). Normal diastolic blood pressure falls between 60 and 80 mm Hg. (By convention, an individual’s blood pressure is written as systolic/diastolic blood pressure, e.g., 120/80). Current guidelines define normal blood pressure as lower than 120/80.

Some things you can do to raise BP is to drink water, this helps make sure your body is hydrated enough, coffee is known to raise BP as well. Increase salt intake, if this stays too low or you can't get the BP to raise and have symptoms then you need to see your doctor for medication to raise your BP as well. Eat small low carb meals.

Here is a site you can read more on this as well to raise BP

If you have any other symptoms or if you get your BP to rise and still feeling light headed, do see your doctor for further evaluation.
