Hi,

-What is the approx. size [length] of the abrasion?

-Did it bleed much?

-WHEN did this happen?

-Is there swelling or tenderness around the site?

Please note that your well-thought out responses to these questions will

greatly assist me in narrowing down the possible diagnoses, so I can reply to you

with more accurate and helpful medical advice.

Thanks, --Dr. Steve, Your Online Family Doctor

1. its not very big less than a cm round.
2. if it bled at all it was a very small amount.
3. it happened around 11pm last night.
4. it has no swelling that I can tell, its red from being raw, and its slightly tender.

I had a small amount of pain after inner course, but at time I have vaginal dryness so at time I do experience a small amount of pain for the following 24 hrs. ( my obgyn knows about this problem). I also received my period this morning so I didn't notice this injury until about 10pm this evening while taking my shower.

Hi--the only "wound care" you need is:

  • 3 thorough cleansings per day [eg. 2 showers + 1 cleansing w/ washcloth]; use antibacterial soap (like Lever2000) to wash gently.

Because the inner labia is made up of mucosal tissue--it tends to heal very quickly: should be back to normal within 3-5 days.

Take care.
