What's some causes for pain to radiate down the left leg?

there are several.
most of them involve the nerve being pressed on from an area it crosses through: this can be at the lower back by inflammation or even a herniated disc, at the hip, at the buttocks or at the leg itself. the most common area for this is at the buttock which is called sciatic pain. this can sometimes be alleviated with an antiinflammatory like motrin otc (as long as youre not allergic or can take it for other health reasons). this should help in 7-10 days if you take it every 6 hours and rest the area. if no change you need to see a dr for xrays and possible mris to rule out the above.
