Sent to Health Experts May 31, 2005 1:23 p.m.

I had cushnings disease and they removed a tumor from my pututary gland several years ago i was prescribed synthroid, but stopped taking it after about one year. I recently went to a neurologist and had a MRI, everything is fine, But I feel tired all the time and have no energy.I also gained weight during pregnancy and find it very hard to lose the weight. Will synthroid help raise my motabalism? Will it help raise my energy level?

Hello,

You mentioned you stopped taking the synthroid after a year. During the year you were taking it, did you feel better? Can you recall when you started feeling this way?

I would not suggest re-starting the synthroid until you have the go ahead from your endocrinologist.

At this time it is best to seek a medical check up explaining your symptoms, and have them rule out any other cause o(utside of the normally expected symptoms) that unfortunately go hand in hand with this disease.

I will do my best to assist you if you respond the the above questions, and thank you.
