First here is some of my medical history ... I have been ...

Sent to Health Experts September 25, 2005 6:56 a.m.

First here is some of my medical history ... I have been diagnosed with Scoliosis, Asthma, a Hernia, Chronic Depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, & Borderline Personality Disorder, and have had Gestational Diabetes with 2 of my pregnancies, it went away after delivery both times, and am at least 100lbs to 120 lbs overweight, but since I quit trying to loose weight I
have stayed the same weight (about 8 years now), but now I am becoming less and less active due to other health reasons. I haven't been to a doctor in about 5 years, & do not have a job, or health insurance. I have had Kidney stones twice, and the last time (2003) I still owe that hospital over $2000, and basicly do not go to a
doctor unless I am in too much pain, or feel I'm going to die if I don't go. I also have a filling that fell out 3 years ago and most of that tooth is gone now ... I had to be seen on 2 separate occasions in the emergency room for that tooth & now I gargle about 6 to 10 times a day, to prevent going back because I still can't pay them for the previous visits. I have varicose veins, leg & ankle pain & swelling, Back pain between shoulder blades, under bra strap, Lower back pain, hip pain, difficulty walking standing, or sitting in any position for very long, sharp pains in feet, numbness in 3 toes on right foot,& I sometimes get dizzy or light headed when I don't eat, or right after eating. I have these reoccuring Cysts that are now sores that drain puss/blood/or some clearish liquid & they no longer
heal closed. The first cyst formed under my right arm when I was 16, but now they have spread under both arms, in my groin area, and under my belly. I now have 19 open cysts, and I shower everyday and wash, drain, and clean them several (maybe 8) times a day. I have swollen glands in my neck, that have been that way almost non-stop for nearly 2 years. I also get this nasty discharge from my tonsils, but any time I have mentioned it to a doctor in the past they seem unconcerned. I go through bouts of depression, and some anxiety, mostly due to my situation of being unable to work, and my decreasing health. I have trouble sleeping, waking up several times a night because of pain and have to find a new position or get up until it hurts more to be up than laying down. I have occasional digestive problems diarhea, but I almost prefer that to the servere abdominal pains/cramps I get an hour or 2 before a constipated or even a normal bowel movement. That pain seems to center around my hernia. At the last free health screening I went to they said my blood pressure and glucose levels were too high. Also my mother had thyroid problems that caused her to gain over 300lbs in 10 years before she was diagnosed, & I've never been checked. Before I got divorced I was a military dependant and was seen regularly at Darnall Army Hospital on Fort Hood Texas but the doctors there did very little for me, and eventually I quit going to them because they only wasted my time, and forced me to pay a babysitter for the hours I wasted at the hospital, just so they could send me back home without fixing my back pain, or cyst condition.
The last few times I have been sick I have used left over, or refill antibiotics or asthma inhalers from my daughter who does still have medical insurance under her father's insurance. I had to give my 4 children to my brother to raise because I could no longer take care of them because of my debilitated state. At the time I thought it would be temporary but my health keeps declining, & in November I will loose the Allimony
my X-husband pays and then I will become homeless because with all these health concerns and no college education I can not find a job that I can physically do.
I live in Fort Worth Texas, and would appreciate any help/advice for my back problems, and the cysts. I am only 35 years old! Please help me!

Here are some web sites that will help you apply for Social Security Disability.

http://www.social-security-disability-claims.org/

http://www.ssa.gov/disability.html

In the mean time, here are some other agencies that will help you get medical treatment.

The above site has an email address so you can write what you did here, to them, and they will direct you to where is the best place to go.

Please do the above.

Sounds like your life depends on it.

Dear Kerry,
Sorry it took me a few days to pay the $5 fee, I had to wait til the 1st for my alimony check to clear my bank. Thank you for the web sites, I will check some of them out but, I have already been to Social Security and was turned down in July. They sent me to a doctor who would not check me for Diabetes, & who only took one x-ray of my upper spine and not of the lower back/tailbone/hip area where most of my problems are. They said according to their findings from the information they had, I do not have diabetes, and I do not qualify. I have applied to Texas Rehabilitation to see if they can hopefully train me for something I can physically do to earn a living, and possibly be able to afford some health care.
Thanks again Cat

Dear Kerry,
Thanks I will check into SS Disability and start looking for a lawyer. I can't use the Vetran link you sent me .... I was never in the service, my X-husband was and because I was his dependant I was treated by military doctors for over 14 years ... that also made it harder for me to provide medical proof for the SS people because they don't keep medical records once you are no longer a dependant. I received a copy of my records when we divorced but it was less than half of what was in my original medical file. I have some important tests/bone scans, x-ray translations, ect but they condensed it so much some pertinent information was missing when filed for disability. I assumed SS people would send me to a more compitant doctor and unfortunately was nieve.
Anyway Thank you for your help.
