It could be GERD, if it is right under your stomach area, but to know you would need a doctor to do upper and lower endoscopy. This would exclude various causes - including polyps, inflammation, ulcers or masses.

I would consider a CT scan to evaluate the spleen and pancreas. Pancreatic enzyme tests can also be considered for evaluation. Another test to consider would be a 24-hr pH study - which is the most comprehensive test looking for GERD.

The CT scan would also look for diverticulitis. Regarding kidney disease, blood tests can be done to evaluate kidney function, and a kidney ultrasound can be ordered to evaluate the anatomy of the kidney.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.

Reply to Cynd's Post: It is on my side near the gall bladder area, I called the ER and they said it was probably an inflamed gall bladder but if pain persist through the day to have it checked out. Do you agree with that, that pain is not in the stomach area as you stated.

Yes, I was just going to post this to you!!!
You might have stones or sludge in it.
For an attack:
Stay way from all Fatty and high sugar foods!
Liquid diet today,
1 tablespoon of apple cider in a glass of apple juice for pain. NOW

Then for inflammation, no sold foods for 3 days, Consume only distilled or spring water.

Then drink juices such as pear, beet, and apple for three days.

Then add solid foods: shreddeded raw beets, with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, fresh lemon juice, and freshly made, uncooked applesause made in a blender, or food processor. Apple juice makes the stones soft to pass.

If your pain becomes sharp and is very bad..go to ER at once. Or if you have vomiting.

Hope this helps you. Good Luck and God Bless.
