I was recently approved for SSDI however I am not eligible for Medicare until I have collected SSDI for 24 months. Becasue of a small IRA I am ineligible for any social medical programs. I have learned that unless a person is wealthy, destitute or an illegal/legal alien they are not entitled to any help with respect to medial attention. How can this be? In this country? Why, when a person needs medical attention at a most critical time, it is not available?
