OK , after 2 x-rays and a MRI, I have all kinds of medical terms discribing my back, I have asked my physician to explain and I just don't seem to be getting it. There are terms like broad based disc bulge to the left lateral recess with mild effacement of the left S1 nerve root, small broad based disc bluge, mild ligamentum flavum hypertrophy, asymmetry to facet joints, mild degrees of central stenosis and with all this comes my symptoms. Tingling and numbness in my left leg, from hip to toes, when I walk the ball of my foot feels hollow, like it is not there, of course lower back pain, shooting pains in the hip area, basically at the dimples part on my buttocks, a crunching feeling in my neck when sitting at a computer, with numbness and tingling in my hands and arm. Numbness in the saddle groin area, oh yeah because of the pain medication it causes constipation and the constipation causes extreme pain in the lower back. I have lost control of my bladder after having a epidural shot, this only happened after the needle so I did not have them again and the bladder is fine now. While sitting my feet go numb and feel like they are not there, and get very cold to the touch as well as turning blueish in color. So with all this information would you be able to explain it to me in plain english as it seems my doctor has lost the use of this language. Also could you recommend the next step in my recovery after physiotherapy, chaging jobs to suitable work. Thanks for your help.
Sincerely
S. McIntyre
