I had a hysterectomy 7 weeks ago. Is it normal to have pain and a little spotting during sex? Does that mean it's still sore inside and will that go away?

I don't know your full medical history etc., but it is possible you may need a bit longer to heal than the standard 6 weeks. If you have had your post op visit and all was cleared to resume sex again, then you should let your doctor. Other wise, do give it another week. If there is pain and/or discomfort then you should always stop.

I don't know if she has had a full hysterectomy including cervix. This could be atrophic vaginitis. Which the vaginal lining becomes thinned out and bleeds easily, which can be caused by low estrogen levels.

Other wise possible infections can cause this type of reaction as well.

Hope this helps, If you need anything else please feel free to ask. If you found this helpful don’t forget to click the *accept* button!
