Just a few questions so I can better answer your inquiry.

What is your age? Sex? Weight?

Do you have any other medical conditions that could be aggravated by withdrawl (Blood pressure, Diabetes, Asthma, Depression, etc)?

How long have you been on the medications? Are they all opiates?

What symptoms are you currently exeriencing? Dizziness? Nausea? Tremors? Fever? Lethargy? Depression? Appetite?Etc.

When was the last time you took any of the medications? Are you going to try cold turkey?

If the meds were initially given by a doctor, has the underlying condition that required pain management been corrected?

Would you prefer a holistic approach? Traditional? Combination?

Do you have access to any support network? Family, friends, Narcotics Anonymous?

Are you willing and/or financially able to receive theraputic services?

Thanks so much,

Liddy

Being that you haven't seen a physician, I will review the tradional approach then follow with some holistic interventions. Hopefully something here will be able to help you out.

Traditional Medicine

Methadone is a prescribed medication which acts as a substitute for the stronger opiate then is slowly withdrawn. However, you do need a script for the med (not OTC). There are a couple of other traditional avenues, but in your particular situation I'm going to fucus more on the holistic approach.

Alternative Medication/Application

St. Johns Wort: Mainly this herb is used to treat anxiety/depression. Typically, the herb does need time to build up in your system. However, I wanted to offer the information if you could find it beneficial. If you choose, the recommended dosage is 300mg 3x daily in pill form. The minimum time for treatment to become beneficial is 4-6 weeks. Please keep in mind that St. Johns Wort can necatiely interact with some medications. Bring that you didn't mention any I won't go into more detail.

*One additional thing about the depression; After you are clean for a month or so, the depression will ease. Just some time for your head to clear up a bit.

Ginger: This herb is used for intestinal and pain related problems. Women who experience morning sickness resulting from pregnancy, will frequently use "Crystalized Ginger" to remedy nausea. Ginger is available as tea, powder, & in capsule form. The crystalized and tea form will provide the most immediate relief from nausea. You can find the crystalized form at most health food stores and frequently in the spice aisle of most grocery stores.

California Poppy & Passion Flower: Both of these flowers act as natural "relaxants." That being so, you will benefit from anxiety alleviation much quicker than with the St. Johns Wort. More than likely you'll have to acquire these from a health food store. GNC could possibly have the supplement.

B Complex: The B vitamins are responsible for functions such as carbohydrate conversion & fat and protein conversion as related to the nervous system. Versus taking a pill I would recommend you take the supplement in liquid form. You will take it orally through a dropper and it will be immediately absorbed. If you take a pill you always run the chance of regurgitating, hence increasing symptoms and discomfort.

Oh, if at all possible use teas/liquids if at all possible. Since you will have a tender stomach, just as with the B complex, there is no need to unintentionally irritate your stomach any further.

Water: This is a big one. When the body is under stress and nausea is present, the body can become dehydrated. Please keep some Pedialyte or other electrolyte on hand if such a situation does arise. Following is a link to dehydration symptoms so you'll know what to be aware of:
