My mother in law drove here from FL (tom. will be 2wks ago). As mentioned came here on a Friday & on a Wednesday her son tatooed her (my brother-in-lae is a tatooist). Yesterday the tatoo will be 7 days old. She has been c/o redness, swelling, difficulty ambulating as well as painful ambulation, tender to the touch. The tatoo is med-calf. I looked @ it thoroughly today & ankle is swollen as well & postive for symtoms as she indicated. My concern is that since she drove just days before she got the tatoo (24 hour drive with stops here & there, smoker, recent tatoo), is she symptomatic for a DVT? Also, afebrile. Please advise as she doesn't want to seek medical care before she drive back. thanks
