My 2.5 year old daughter had a bit of a temper tantrum today, and in the process she vomited a large amount of flem, twice. In addition, she has had several incidences of choking on food that she is eating. Could this be a sign of anything serious?

Were these choking spells during temper tantrums?

Has she been vomitting other times?

No, the choking incidences were not during temper tantrums. She was just eating normally. She has had the choking episodes often, most of the times she clears the food quickly, but once it took a little longer (which got us very worried).

This past week she has had three incidences of vomiting flem, the last time she vomited twice in a single episode.

There are a number of things that can cause difficulty swallowing - dysphagia (the medical term)

Some of the causes that would need considered:
A narrowing in the esophagus (a stricture) which can be caused by esophageal reflux

A neuromuscular problem (nerve-muscle coordination problem) which would probably be associated with some other problems (coordintion, weakness, difficulty walking)

Statiscally speaking - reflux is by far the most likely of these: Here is some information for you on the subject
