Amazing, I am in Raleigh, NC. I also am being treated for the same thing which is one reason I jumped on your question. My doctor referred me to a physical therapist. I was worried that the problem was due to a disk in my cervical spine (neck) pinching a nerve. What I was told is that usually these type of symptoms are due to tight muscles, a muscle injury or perhaps in your case the stress and strain of moving. What I can tell you is that the numbness and tingling is due to nerve impingment. It is not necessairly due to the spine which is a good thing. Tight muscles with knots called trigger points can do the same thing. With your insurance problems now I would suggest that you continue to use heat and cold, cold is actually better, on the places that hurt. Take ibuprofen or Excedrin (if you have used this over several weeks before and it did not hurt your stomach). With ibuprofen take 3 tablets every six hours or 4 tablets every 8 hours for at least a week to 10 days. Pay attention to you stomach and if it starts to hurt stop and use acetaminophen for a week to 10 days. The ibuprofen is better because it has an antiinflammatory effect that acetaminophen does not. Put the cold pak on for no more than 20 minutes per hour. If you know any gentle stretches then do these several times a day but do not let it hurt. Hold each stretch at least 20 seconds and repeat 3-5 times several times per day. If you can go to a massage therapist, a chiropractor, a nurse practitioner as I think further therapy will be helpful.
Good luck!
