BNP - The BNP is a medical test that measures the level of the hormone Brain Natriuretic Peptide (BNP) in the blood. The BNP is produced by the heart and is normally present in the blood in very minute quantities. But if the heart has to workd harder as in heart problems, the level rises and can be measured. BMP - The BMP is the Basal Metabolic Panel. This panel utilizes a number of tests that can declare the presence of different disease, mainly of the heart and kidney. These tests are GLU (for blood glucose level), Blood Urea Nitrogen , Creatinine level, Sodium, Potassium, Chloride and calcium. Please see:

Echocardiogram - This is a test that uses sound waves to get a picture of the heart in motion, rather like an ultrasonogram of the abdomen. Please see:
