You didn't mention whether your physician had tested you for mononucleosis. However your age of 31 is a little older than usual for the development of mono. But your symptoms you describe are very much like those found in mono.
Some of the symptoms you describe may indeed indicate that you have acquired mono. This is a disease usually found in 16 to 24yr olds. It generally starts with a temperature, swollen neck and lymph nodes, sore throat, white patches on the tonsils, headache, body aches, fatigue, loss of appetite and pain in the upper left abdomen which may be due to an enlarged spleen.
I think that you should once again contact your physician and a simple blood test would determine whether or not you may have mono. This is very common in teenagers and young adults.
