This is absolutely not normal and be a sign of infection. You need to contact your doctor that gave the shots for this. If these were done by yourself then need to also follow up with medical attention. Again, these are not normal to occur like this.

If these were administered by yourself they may not have been done correctly and they may also not be legal forms of the steroid you mentioned.

You also should not have combined the two as one shot and administered it.

Reply to 4ren6's Post: It was done by myself, not prescribed. After talking to friends who have had the same thing happen, some say it goes away in 2 weeks and some say they have it drained. It doesn't seem to be infected,(no discoloring)just like a boil on my arm. It's very sore and very warm.

Warm may indeed indicate infection. You need to keep an eye on it. The two meds should not have been shot as one. And yes if not shot into the deep muscle tissue it may indeed need to be drained. I suggest that you still seek medical assistance if it should continue for your own well being.

Hip and buttocks are the normal area for injections.

Neosporin will be your best bet but you or it do need to keep an eye on it.............but seriously..........get it checked if it continues to be warm and sore.

I hope that I have better helped you.

You may trying heating a glass bottle over heat and getting it hot enough and placing the mouth over the golf ball and pushing down. The cooling will draw the area up into the bottle and perhaps drain some of it if close to the surface.

Good luck.

Reply to 4ren6's Post: It's under the skin totally. I don't think it can be drawn to the surface. The last paragragh I don't understand.

If it was close to the surface you can heat a glass bottle. Put it to and over the wound. As it cools it will draw a vacuum and pull the pus or infection out or to the surface. This is what I was explaining. But it sounds to be too deep for this technique.

No other alternatives then those above. The antibiotic would need to be specific to the infection and only a medical exam can do this.

Reply to 4ren6's Post: Your advice has been great!! I'm not a weak person, so could I stick it with another seringe and will it drain then? Or wait till whenever it goes away, or go through the embarassment of going to my doc?

Sorry for the delay in getting back. Got knocked out with an electrical storm last night.

Yes, you could try to draw the fluid off if you would like but I would consider letting it be absorb into the body on it's own if it will. It appears that it may not. You could attempt to drain it if possible but use sterile materials and clean well when done. It may or may not drain. Going to your doctor would really be of no embarrassment and may actually be your better choice. You could go with any of the above mentioned attempts that you described.

I hope this has better helped and if so you may click the accept if you have no further questions.

Glad to be able to assist you on this. Be careful in the future with these meds as I am sure your aware of potential side effects to the heart and other organs.
