I have some type of staff infection on the rightside of my nose ...

I have some type of staff infection on the right side of my face.It started as a pimple,but then the swelling continued. I went to my doctor and he gave me a shot and two perscriptions.1 is Rifampin 300mg, the other is SMZ/TMP DS 800-160 TAB MUTUAL generic for Bactrim. I have only taken one dosage so far.He told me if Istarted to feel any pain to go to the hospital and they would probible have to cut it open to drain the infection. I also kept the wound open to drain by keeping an antibiotic ointment and a bandage on it .My guestion is, the swelling has almost closed my eye but I'm not in any pain yet. Should I wait to see if the pills work or should I get to the hospital ASAP.
