Hello,

I do not think that a colon cleanse by inserign fluid into the rectum is a good idea, especialy one which is not being done by a trained medical person.

Ideally an enema should clean out only the rectum which is the lower part of the colon. The fluid in a typical colon cleanse available in the market can travel too far into the colon, carrying with it stool that has collected in the rectum. This stool also contains bacteria and other organisms that can then be distributed deep inside the intestines, causing intestinal infections. I think this procedure can cause more harm than good.

Since you have asked, I would like to tell you that the best position to insert an enema tube is while lying on the sides. The upper leg should be drawn up as high as possible so that the buttocks are parted and the tube inserted. If not done by a trained person, it can cause a lot of pain, the tip of the tube scratching against the soft mucous membrane of the anus and rectum.

If you really want to clean out the colon, please take a high fibre diet to scrub out the gut,, enough fluids to flush out toxins and enough exercise to stimulate the intestines. These threee steps are good enough as a colon cleanse.

I hope this helps.

Hello,

I would still like to advise you not to use the tube, but in case you really feel that it will do you good, please do not insert it for more than 10 cm as the length of the rectum varies between 10-15 cm. And please do not allow too much fluid inside at the same time as it will cause the fluid to flow too far inside the colon. Please be careful.

I hope this helps.
