Question

drug testing

Sent to Health Experts September 08, 2006 1:53 p.m.

I had to take a pre-employment test today, both urine and hair...I am not a frequent user by any means...I have had no drugs in the last 30 days but have smoked a little bit of pot and have done a little cocaine in the last 90 days. What are the chances that I can still pass the tests?

by a little, do you mean 1 day? How often have you used in the last 6 months.

Thanks

Marijauna - 4 times, 1 puff each time

That is generally not enough to cause a build up in your system. If that is the extent of your use in 6 months and nothing has been done in 30 days, then your chances are very, very low at this point. It's nothing I would worry about for that amount. Even if you did one puff of Marijuana in 30 days, you would be fine still. If you used daily or even a weekly basis, that would be different. But the small amount you have done, all should come back fine.

Best of luck, hope you get the job! Hope this helps, If you need anything else please feel free to ask. If you found this helpful don’t forget to click the *ACCEPT* button and leave *POSITIVE* feedback.

yes, I said very, very low chance as there is not enough used for a build up (which I was referring to the hair) urine test as you know are 100% fine. But I with hair (depending upon what type of test they do) can go back for months or years, but this will generally give a reading for those that are chronic users. If it's been about 8 times total in a 6 month period, you are not a chronic user. Plus the reason for chronic users, there are prescribed medications that can give a false reading, so it really goes back to how much you have used and 8 times is not a lot at all. (of course since I am in the medical profession, 8 is too many) but in general, not a lot. I can't say 100% free, but very low Hun.

I appreciate your honest response and I also agree that 8 is too many. No excuse but bad times. Thank-you so much for your help, I feel a little better.
