Sent to Health Experts October 02, 2006 11:01 a.m.

The last 2 times I have had sex with my female partner I have not been able to ejaculate. I was able to get a good erection and we had sex for a good while but even after her masturbating me I did not ejaculate. I have been able to a couple of times previous to that but only after her masturbating me and not during intercourse. I've been using a 3 day sex patch for a couple of weeks. I also have been taking a sex enhancement pill called virigen daily for a couple of weeks if we would have intercourse on that day I would have taken the pill about 3 hours prior to. I also take cialis sometimes before we have intercourse and this is usually about 45 minutes to 11/2 hours before. I would like to ejaculate during intercourse after about 8-10 minutes of intercourse. Your thoughts and assistance would be appreciated.

Hi Customer (name blocked for privacy)-

Unfortunately your problem is a fairly common one.

There are two schools of though regarding delayed ejaculation (or DE): one is that DE is almost always caused by psychological factors, and the other is that there is more often an underlying medical condition. Because this seems to be a new occurance in your sex life (assuming this has not happened before the last two time you've had intercourse), and assuming there have been no changes in your relationship with your partner, I am inclined to believe that your problem is more medical related than psychological.

Given this, you should head to your doctor to get a complete physical. Make sure to tell your doctor about the supplements you are taking (the patch and the pill). It may be that the supplements are actually what are causing you to not be able to ejaculate (this is a known side effect with the Cialis, and it may be with the other products as well), and your doctor should be able to evaluate whether it's this or something else.

Sincerely,
Emily

Yes, I am familiar with male enhancement patches (they go by several different names, including ProEnhance, Magna RX, etc.) and pills (I am not familiar with Virigen specifically however).
