Question

My daughter age six was diagnosed with strep on ...

Sent to Health Experts October 22, 2006 12:52 a.m.

My daughter age six was diagnosed with strep on Tuesday morning (started running fever Monday night). She recieved a shot of penicillin (the doctor said the highest dose). We have been alternating Tylenol and Motrin every four hours when needed. Her fever comes and goes. She went back to the doctor on Friday and they gave her an antibiotic to take by mouth and she has had 3 doses. She is still running fever. Is it dangerous to run fever this long and what else can be done to rid of it? They did a blood test and everything looked fine. Could we be missing something?

Optional Information:
Female , Age: 6

Already Tried:
tylenol and motrin, shot of penacillin and antibiotic by mouth

Acting fine, not a great appetite ( something is wrong when she won't eat a complete bowl of ice cream) She will play when the medicine is working.
