My husband is 24 years old, and his diet consists of PB&J sandwiches on white, crustless bread, plain, rinsed off spaghetti noodles, potato & corn chips, cheez-its, and almost anything sweet (with a few exceptions). The only healthy things he eats are apples, bananas, and occasionally canned peaches and pears. He has been this way his whole life - his parents tried to give him healthier things, but he would gag or even throw up. He still has a gag reflex when he tries something new now - which is rare. He really wants to eat all kinds of foods - he just can't seem to do it. Do you think this is all psycological, or could there in fact be a medical reason? Have you ever met anyone else like this?

He was tested for food allergies at a very young age, but without conclusive results.

Your husband presnets the typical progile of 'junk food addiction'. This is now a recognised addiction problem in which the person becomes addicted to junk food, in much the same way as some people get addicted to drugs. This is a treatable condition, you should approach a deaddiction clinic, or any psychologist who can refer you to one, and get him treated.
