Need to know where we can go to get her tested or has anyone heard of

I have a question about my daughter who is 16 years old. She was diagnosed as having something called Brachial Lexus Neuropathy. The problem that we are having is the doctors have refused to retest her since the problem returned from last year only to worsen this year. Last year her fingers on her left hand stopped working they went into a state of deformity. This year they have both done the same thing leaving only her fore finger and her thumb to work normaly. We are trying to find out where we can get some help to see what is causing the problem and find a solution or at least get some peace of mind. My daughter is now facing some depression because she wants to go back to school, without looking deformed or in pain. If you know of a hospital or doctor who would be willing to see her please let us know. We are desperate!!!!!!! Please help!!

Hi Customer (name blocked for privacy)--glad to help; I HAVE dealt w/ BPN (Brachial Plexus Neurop.) pts before; first, a few Q's though:

-When was she FIRST Dx'd?.....at what AGE did she FIRST have symptoms?

-Was there any trauma (or difficult delivery) when she was BORN?

-Has she had EMG?...Nerve Conduction Studies?...MRI? (results--if you know?)

-Do you know WHY the MD's will NOT retest her?

-What type of Insurance do you have (so I can help give a good referral)?

-What State do you live in? (near which MAJOR City?)

Once you've answered these questions with clear, well-thought out answers, I will reply with my Expert Medical Opinion. Your answers will enable me to get closer to an accurate diagnosis, which is critical to obtaining successful treatment or cure.
