I have located the following info that may assist your concerns. please see the following info and the source link below.

Staph bacteria and MRSA can spread among people having close contact with infected people. MRSA is almost always spread by direct physical contact, and not through the air. Spread may also occur through indirect contact by touching objects (i.e., towels, sheets, wound dressings, clothes, workout areas, sports equipment) contaminated by the infected skin of a person with MRSA or staph bacteria.

How can I prevent staph or MRSA infections?

Practice good hygiene

1. Keep your hands clean by washing thoroughly with soap and water

2. Keep cuts and abrasions clean and covered with a proper dressing (e.g., bandage) until healed

3. Avoid contact with other people’s wounds or material contaminated from wounds.

Hope this helps..Take care.

Further research suggests that MRSA is highly contagious. ... If you have safe sex with someone who is positive, you can easily contract MRSA through prolonged skin to skin contact with the infected individual. I am including for you another link with some more information on the disease.

I hope this information may be beneficial, Best of care to you, and thank you again.

MRSA will be contracted by contact to the infected person (be it sexual, or skin contact). You can be a carrier of the disease and not have symptoms for years to come, but again, the risk and choice is yours for the making. It is a very serious disease, and I am sure a scary decision for you to be facing. I wish I could tell you something more you would like to hear, but I am stating the facts of the disease and the absolute possibility of you likely contracting it. If you research the disease you will see the facts to back what I have been telling you, I wish I could ease your mind, but I want to be as honest as I can with you, and the fact is, it's an awful situation to face.

I still wish you the best, and hope that things can work out for you. Take care.
