This may be considered "temporary blindness" ....and it could be a result of a migraine - or stress, or eye strain or eye disease or medical condition (not to alarm you...but, Multiple Sclerosis is one such condition that causes eye problems Optic Neuritis...with symptoms as you describe). I would seek out an ophthalmologist as soon as possible...one should not wait when it concerns their vision/overall health and well-being.

Personally, this has happened to me in the past - and it was caused from combination stress/migraine.
