The medication is having some side effects as you are seeing now. If she is having a smelly discharge she could have contracted a yeast infection and needs to get some Monistat to treat the infection. As far as the night sweats and smell there is not much you can do except cool down the room temperature and discuss these side effects with her physician. She may be having wonderful results from the Wellbrutin but there are other possibilities that could work well with less side effects so I would also suggest she ask her physician about alternatives to the Wellbrutin.

Reply to cheryl kauffman's Post: Monistat is the basic "cure" for a yeast infection. I think that the Wellbutrin is actually changing her bacterial ballance in her body creating changes in her vaginal discharge. I think a yeast infection would be thicker and more chunky and itching. Hers is more watery and smells more fishy. Her sex drive has subsided greatly and when excited it is more watery than slippery (as it used to be), making intercourse uncomfortable. Other psychiatric medications (Efflexor) had the same effect.
After using the Monistat for the 3 days required, won't the Wellbutrin continue to have the same negative effect on her vaginal bacteria?
P.S.-she has mentioned to her doctor side effects and he refused to believe ANY smell could be a side-effect, which is ignorant because as soon as she is off the medication, within weeks things ballance out. (but then the anxiety is a concern)
