Question

excessive sweating of the armpits

Sent to Health Experts November 25, 2005 3:25 p.m.

Approximately 2 years ago I travelled to Java, Indonesia on a business trip. While I was there a got a flu-like fever (sore throat, headache, sweating, tiredness). I recovered quickly from the the fever except that I started sweating excessively under the armpits and it has never got better. Even when I am sitting during the day, no matter whether the weather is hot or cold I will sweat under the arms soaking my shirt. It tends to be a lot better at night times but as soon as I get up in the mornings it starts. It doesn't happen at all when I am in bed asleep.
