okay so i have a few questions. so i have a few canker sores in my mouth, one on my buttom gum in the front, one on my cheek and i think thats it...but i also have a small bump, its painless also just a flesh bump on the right side of my tongue in the back. i had shingles earlier this year in oct/nov of 2005. it occured in my sixth sensory nerve so therefore the entire right side of my mouth was covered in painful sores/bumps. my doctor told me it could leave scars so i considered this possibility. i thought maybe it was becuase i bit my tongue but thats kind of wierd. i went to get tested today because i was afraid it was a form of stds but the clinic wasn't taking new people. im really scared. so i thought maybe between the canker sores and this bump it might be something scary. besides this i was wondering if its normal to have that line of bumps in the back of your tongue. they're just papilae or however u spell it right?

not much because i was almost scared to know the answer if it was stds, but i looked up symptoms online and it could be a dental issue but i wasn't sure. however i went to a free clinic today to get tested for stds but they weren't taking new people, whatever that means. but PLEASE i need to know.

ACCEPTED Check Mark

This sounds more gum and tooth related then due to an STD, and if you had shingles recently this could also be scar tissue that has resulted. I would try to gargle with warm salt water and see if this seems to help and try to make an appointment with a local dentist in your area as well as this does not sound related to an STD, so please do not worry yet. I would also suggest that you start using a cankor sore medication as this can help until you can be seen to reduce the sores that you have as well. No it is not normal to have these bumps but from all you state this does not sound related to an STD.
