I am not taking any medication for this condition. I want to know what else can I do to rid myself of these obsessive thoughts and panicky feelings that come several times throughout the day.

The most important thing you can do is focus on the positives in your life. Anxiety sets us a negative feedback loop where the individual gets into a downward spiral.
You have to believe
1. You can change this
2. You are in control of your life

If there is something in your life which is triggering these feelings then you need to understand what you can do about it. There is no advantage in dwelling on what you cannot do, start by finding one positive thing you can do/change or achieve even if it is just deciding to ring a friend for a chat. then recognise that achievement in some way.

Accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative!
Use of positive mantras will help you focus in really tough times.
If you feel you need medication then start with Bach's flower remedies or see a homeopathic practitioner. there are a number of preparations which are not addictive and will give you the strength to get through bad days.
Hope this helps
