I had a CT of my adrenal glands because of a high cortisol ...

I had a CT of my adrenal glands because of a high cortisol level. The results were multi-nodules of the glands. This is all my Dr. could tell me and said he does not know what this means and wants to send me to a endocrinolgist. I"m very anxious to know what this means. I waited two weeks for the results of the CT and now the waiting continues. Can you tell me what canuses nodules, is this the same as tumors and the prognosis the ssame. Can this be treated with meds or surgery.
