Sent to Health Experts March 19, 2006 4:22 p.m.

I have had a bad headache since last Sunday. It goes away for a while then comes back.   I take Tylenol Release gelcaps. The headache sometimes doesn't even go away with this. It seems like it starts in the back of my head bad, then my whole head starts hurting. This has been going on for a week. I have no neck or back problems. I don't drink a lot of caffeine or anything and I'm not under a lot of stress. What could be causing these headaches??
Thanks,
Kim

ACCEPTED Check Mark

It is possible that there is a build up of fluids in your sinuses. There are several viruses going around this winter where headache such as you describe is a major symptom. These viruses are lasting up to two weeks.

I suggest you try motrin or advil or excedrin to get a different mix of medication. Following package directions of course.

You can try ice packs to the area to see if that helps too.

If the above doesn't help you might consider seeing a doctor to rule out migraine.

I actually went to my DR. on Monday because of something she called philebitis or something like that. It was inflammed blood vessels from an iv I had way back in January. It just seemed to get worse and worse. She gave me a percription called indomethacin.(75mg e). This actually says it is for pains such as headaches and for inflammation. This headache started Sunday and I started the medicine for my hand(because of iv) Tuesday. With this medicine I can not take any ibuprofen at all, which usually does the tricks on any headache I ever get!!!! I would have thought this medicine would have helped my headache, but no. I don't seem to be having sinus problems, but I'm sure that could be it. That may be why nothing is helping.

Kim
