Weaning is absolutly necessary. Believe me, I realize you are anxious to halt a medicine with significant side effects and low therapeutic effect but the risks, even after one week are significant. The reduction in dosage will quickly diminish the negative side effects, and you will be safely off before you know it.

For you the most significant study showed that those who do not benefit from Paxil also suffer the most serious withdrawl!

Psychological withdrawl (yes-even after a week) can include overwhelming fear, obsessive thoughts or behavior,, anger, and exhaustion.

Physical can include nausea, diarreah, shaking, muscle aches and seizures.

There are many many anti-depressant/anti anxiety meds available, and it may take time and patience, but you can find the medication to give you the peace and health you deserve.

Good Luck

I understand, and you should never refrain from asking questions where your health is at stake.

I would still recommend the wean down-but you are the best judge of your body and whether you want to take a calculated risk.

Our bodies change over time and Paxil must not be replacing the neurotransmitter you need.
