Herpes is a viral infection, and there is no cure for it. However, there are certain medications that lessen the frequency and duration of outbreaks. My advice is to see your doctor for these treatment medications. Many people can go for years without an outbreak when taking the proper meds. While the soaps and shampoos you are using have not been scientifically proven to aid in the prevention of herpes outbreaks, they also shouldn't encourage the outbreaks to occur more frequently. However, the only way to lessen outbreaks is to take an antiviral medication.
