First, as you may know, there is no cure for RSD. So treatments are focused on easing the pain and not curing.
Having said that, there are many treatment options. Have your daughter in law bring up these options with her doctor:
Physical therapy - To keep the limb moving and keep a good range of motion
Phentolamine - A drug that blocks the sympathetic receptors. Also done by placing an anesthetic next to the spine.
Medications - There are many medications used to help with the local pain.
Surgical Sympathectomy - Surgery to permanently destroy nerves affected by RSD. This is not for everyone though, as many disagree to it's effectiveness.
Spinal cord stimulation - By implanting an electrode next to the spine a tingling sensation can be felt in the painful area.
Intrathecal drug pumps - This puts drugs directly into the spine, at a lower rate than can be administered orally. This directs the medicine to the pain signaling targets and be very effective.
Finally, RSD can be quite trying on a person. It might also be recommended that she see a therapist to help her through it. Many people suffer from depression, anxiety, or post traumatic stress because of RSD.
I hope this information helps you and her. Please don't forget to "Accept" my answer if you found it to be quick and helpful!

Ryan
