My husband and I are planning to have a baby by artificial insemination, so I've been tracking my ovulation over the last six months. My periods have been regular for as long as I can remember, but these past two months (April & May) I've had 2 periods per month. The ovulation predictor sticks I'm using have not tested positive for any ovulation. I called my OB/GYN in April and she not to worry -- that my period would probably return to normal the following month. This month again, I've had 2 periods, lasting in duration of about 7 days. I'm starting to get concerned, since I can't seem to find any information regarding my health issue on the web. Can you possibly shed any light as to why I might be having an additional period?

Thank You,
Janell in Omaha
