I live in Arkansas and went hiking this past Sunday afternoon. Yesterday (Monday) morning I woke up with a small bump on my side/back I figured it was just a bug bite, it was very itchy and my clothes irritate it and make it itch. Today (Tuesday) it was still small but felt more like a knot than just a whelp. Again my clothes irritated it and I pushed on it (knowing that I probably shouldn't have) but there was a clear liquid that came out of the middle. About a month or month and a half ago I had a small bite/infection at the on the nape of my neck at the edge of my hairline, they didn't know what kind of bite it might be from but gave me Mupirocin for it. I didn't have any reaction to the medicine and the bite and infection was cleared within about a week and a half. Would it be ok to use this same medicine on this bite that I got recently? I assume it is a spider bite because normally little bug bites do not react this way, it stays red even if I have not touched it and stays itchy for the most part. If I shouldn't use this medicine is there an over-the-counter that would be good for something like what I have. Thanks so much for your help!
