How many total milligrams (mg) of Benadryl did you take at one time?

How long ago did you take it?

Have you taken any since?

What condition/symptom are you taking the Benadryl for?

What, if any, other health problems do you have.

What, if any supplements/vitamins/over-the-counter medications/prescription medications do you take?

Thanks in advance.

Steve

I had poison oak on leg. It spread up. I was using ivy dry at home but was at work and it was itching bad so i ran to walgreens. I got benydrill spray and applied that and took 2 25 mg tabs or benydrill alergy. This was about 1pm. I did the same again about 10pm but only took i tab. I woke up this morning and my gron was swelled up big. Skin in penis feels about 3/4 cm thick and everying is thing and wrinkly (and still kinda ichy but alot better)

Thank you for replying.

I do not find swelling on this list of Benadryl side effects -- although hives are certainly possible.

Two possible non-Benadryl explanations come to mind -- although, of course, there could be others:

1.) You could have inadvertently transferred some of the poison oak loyal to your groin area while (or after) you treated your legs.

2.) Similarly, you may have gotten some of the Benadryl spray and/or the Ivy Dry on your groin area and perhaps one of the ingredients in the Ivy Dry, or one of the inactive ingredients in the Benadryl spray irritated your groin area.

You might try some over-the-counter one percent hydrocortisone ointment on the area to calm things down. Of course, see your doctor if your symptoms worsen or persist.

So it will just go away and it not a serious issue? I spryaed the bennydrill spray directly on groin to relieve intching.

THANKS

There are no guarantees -- but you do say that things are feeling a lot better -- which would indicate that this should resolve on its own

As I said before, over-the-counter one percent hydrocortisone ointment may help to further calm things down.

If your symptoms remain troublesome -- it would make sense to see a doctor.
