Excess sweating

Sent to Health Experts June 15 12:02 PM

My son, now 18 was diagnosed with ADHD at age 8. He started on ritalin and as the long acting medication became available switched to concerta and then Adderall. Last year he began having "panic attacks" in social situations. ex: sitting in a classroom, going somewhere new, going out with friends. He began acting "crazy", stealing, talk of being spied on and me poisoning his food. I had him evaluated and he was psychotic. He began taking risperdall for 3 months and is much better. He still cannot function in some social situations with out sweating profusely. He is very negative and gets "stuck " on a negative thought or worry for days. He has tried a couple anti depressants: Welbutrin--he began having suicidal thoughts and fears and celexa--became hyper and crazy. Why would he sweat like this? He has talked to a psychiatrist who gave him some anti-sweat medication and a couple M.D.'s but no one is giving him any clues to what can be done. Is this psychological or a physical problem? He is now avoiding many social situations.
