Temporary dimness of sight in one eye with a silvery shimmery effect. Lasts about 15 minutes. The eyesight returns completely. Can this be a reaction to a medication? This has happened twice in the last two week period.

Hello:
My physician changed my blood pressure to Lotrel 20/40 and my Effexor to 150mg to help relieve my hot flashes.

My cholestorol medication was changed to Zetia.

(Happy to say that I have dropped my cholestorol from 295 to 184 over the past six weeks with a no carb diet, Zetia and exercise.)

I plan on seeing my optometrist this week to check my eyes for new glasses.

Thanks for your reading this.

As I think about it, the problem was after I went off my no carb diet and ate regular food for a few days. I had a glass of milk and (Shame on me!) a piece of cake today to celebrate Fathers Day with my husband and about half an hour later we were in our garden and I noticed the dimming in my right eye.
I was facing the west but it was overcast.

The time before when the dimming occurred, I think I had been outside in the heat and sunlight.

Oh yeah, this did occur after I went on this new medication.
