REPLIED Check Mark

It can take a few days for things to really improve with a bad case of tonsilitis. How long are you to be on the antibiotic? You said that the dose was 500 - How often are you taking it?

Are you allergic to any medications? There are a number of other antibiotics which could be used if this does not start to improve within another day or two.

If you are not allergic to aspirin or other antiinflammatory medications (Motrin-Ibuprofen, Naprosyn etc.) and you don't have a history of stomach problems - ulcers, bleeding etc. - then I would suggest using Ibuprofen instead of the Tylenol. - This is more likely to help the pain since it will also reduce the inflamation.

Also - try sucking on crushed ice, popsicles, anything cold - it will also help
