Head sores. Painful. All over. Pop up and go away on their own.

How to get rid of them. They are usually small, red, hard, like a pimple, but some get large. I've tried everything imaginable, including freezing. We've changed all household products, linen, shampoos, you name it. I'm getting ready to try Lamisil, which is for a fungus around the toes. Prescription meds will reduce their size, but they come right back. I probably have 25 of them on my head at the moment. The number varies wildly. Lamisil? Any hope? I'm on Social Security, fixed income, or I'd offer a lot more money.

Hello,

I would go to the pharmacy and buy some Nizoral Shampoo, which belongs to the family of medications called antifungals. It is used to treat fungal infections. This might be best to use before trying Lamisil.

Apply 5 mL to 10 mL to the wet scalp, work into a lather, and leave on for three to five minutes before rinsing with water

Thought you might have tried, it, but it was worth mentioning.

Have you been to the dermatologist and had these sores cultured?

Reply to Deborah's Post: Yes, she froze them. A week later they were back.

Do you know what the culture mentioned? Was it fungal?
