Hello,

I have suffered from migtraines since I was a kid, so I kmow what you are experiencing.

Have you seen a board certifies neurologist for a consult to receive an accurate diagnosis of migraines? It is worth making a consult with this type of specialist.

Many of the new generation migraine medicines, to include some of the older ones as well can cause patient to experience what is medically known as "rebound headaches". Some medications will take away the headche, but then cause another headache.

You could check with a neurologist or ask your doctor to change your precription to Zomig, Relpax or Maxalt as these are very efficient in treating migraines.

The neurologist will have you obtain a CT Scan of the head which is important, or you can ask your doctor to order one if you have not had one.

Here is some info related to migraines, please let me know if you have questions:

As it sounds as if you are coming down with a cold, your headache could be associated with sinus pressure or generalized flu symptoms.

Relist: I still need help.
Is there such a thing as having a headache six days in a row? I got a pretty severe headache on sunday that lasted until tuesday, than on tuesday I went to the doctor and he prescribed me miagrane medication I felt better afterwards but today is friday and I'm still feeling a slight headache now on my right side of my head just above the my forehead. This might be caused by my lazy eye (.575 in right eye and .100 in my left eye) because they have caused headaches in the past, I went to the eye doctor on thursday and he told me I need a higher prescription which may have caused the headache but I dont ever remember having a headache for such a long period of time which makes me nervous. I have no other symptoms besides a slight sore thorat which I think may have been caused from an air conditioner in my bedroom. Please someone comfirm that I have nothing to worry about. (If you know for sure!)

Hi Manny, It Deborah again.

I really think you should call your doctor and ask for a CT Scan. I am concerned that you have had the headache without relief for so long.

How is your blood pressure? Are you on any other medications other than for migraines?

What kind of insurance do you have? If you have a PPO, I would suggest making an appointment with a neurologist to get to the bottom of these. He will determine if you have migraines, cluster headaches or any other condition. If you have a HMO, ask your PCP for a referral. It would be good if you could at least get a CT scan today. Some facilites are even open on Saturdays. If you want a list of neurologists in your area, let me know, I can give you a list if you give me your zip code.

Often, patients with migraines can suffer headaches anywhere from a a few hours to a few days. What medication did he give you? Relpax and Zomig seem to work best.

Also, as you are having a slight sore throat, which could or could not be related to the AC, have you noticed any sinus problems? Sometimes, headahces are related to sinus infections even if you do not have full blown symptoms.

Reply to Deborah's Post: The wierd part is that my blood pressure is fine and I spoke to my doctor today and he said that the blood test he took on tuesday looks fine too, Also were ever I check for the symptoms of a potential dangerous headache usually they say the headache should be severe, but my headache is more of a nuisance its just sitting on top of my head reminding me he's there, it feels like a soft throbbing feeling. Do you think I can wait until I get my new lenses and see what happens?

Hi Manny,

Sure, you can check out how you do on your new lenses. It may be related to your eyes. If this headache becomes progressively worse, make sure to have a CT scan.
